Holders of current accounts in Greece, from last June 4, can withdraw from ATMs and local banks, a total of € 5,000.00 per month, compared to the previous limit of € 2,300.00.
The limit of the cash in Euro and / or foreign currency that can be taken abroad, per person and per trip, moves from € 2,300.00 to € 3,000.00. From 1 July 2018 it is also possible, for each holder of a current account, to transfer a limit of € 4,000.00 abroad every two calendar months.
With regard to companies, the maximum amount of international transactions, for each account held by the company, which can be managed directly by the Branches of the local credit institutions, goes from € 20,000.00 to € 40,000.00 per day.
These decisions of the Greek government represent a further step for the gradual reduction of restrictions on banking withdrawals and transfer of capital, imposed in June 2015.
